In my experience, training and learning content that combine a lot of different formats (and not only text heavy reading) are much more engaging and participants will remember and use more of what they learned.
A lot of the training material I have seen lately are luckily combining all or some of the different formats like audio, video, games, quizzes, cartoons, and visualizations, to help the participants to a more engaging and effectful learning experience.
